Alerts:
DR DUKESHIRE has made the decision to not return to her family practice. Patients should have received a notice via Medeo, if you did not, please feel free to call the clinic to see what your notice says. Please call the clinic to inquire about booking with her locum. !
WE HAVE EXPANDED! Our second location is at 360 Wesley St. Dr Panesar, Dr Tram and Dr Mbata will be seeing patients at the new location.
MASKS – Masks are no longer mandatory for all patients. We will require patients who are symptomatic for cough/cold/flu to wear a mask to help prevent the spread of infection.
INACTIVE PATIENTS Did you know that if you do not see your doctor for more than 3-4 years your file may become inactive? If this happens, physicians may not be able to see you again. Please ensure that you stay active and book a ‘check up’ every 1-2 years to avoid losing your physician.
ABOUT OUR CLINIC:
We proudly opened our doors in August 2017 and continue to grow and expand, including opening our secondary satellite clinic in December 2023 on Wesley Street.
The physicians at the Wallace Street Medical Clinic are experienced, compassionate, professional and diverse. They have worked in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Africa, South Africa and Iraq in a wide variety of clinical settings including inpatient, outpatient, rural, urban, surgical and emergency room settings.
Our practice is a family clinic, which is different from a walk-in clinic, in that it strives to provide longitudinal care, not episodic care to each patient. This allows for better patient outcomes and prevention of many diseases or illnesses before they arise. We have physicians with special interests, such as skin surveillance, IUD insertions, and Sports Medicine (requiring a referral). This cohesive group works together as a family to ensure the best quality health care for their patients.

PATIENT INFORMATION
Patient Scheduling:
We encourage you to book your appointment as far in advance as possible. The most convenient way to book an appointment is online, but you can also call or drop in to book an appointment. We are seeing patients both in person and by phone appointment. Some physicians do not have office appointments online, please call the clinic for these.
Please call 250-591-9622 and speak with one of the receptionists using option #2.
We do not offer a walk-in clinic and are not taking patients on at this time. If you are looking for a family physician, please register with the Health Connect Registry for all members needing a physician. When we do take on new patients, we work with the registry.
Same Day Appointments:
We recognize that illnesses can be unexpected. That’s why we also have same day appointments available. These same day spots are meant for urgent unexpected issues that have arisen only. These are shorter than a regular appointment. Only the specific issue at hand will be dealt with, and you may be asked to follow up in a regular appointment slot to have the issue discussed/investigated further. We cannot accommodate forms or referrals with same day appointments. Due to overwhelming demand, this is not always possible.
Test Results:
The doctor or staff will call you if you need to come in to review your test results or have a follow up appointment.
If you are concerned about your results, and would like to discuss them further, please book an appointment to review.
Time does not allow us to call back patients with normal results.
Uninsured Services:
Please let us know when you are booking an appointment if you will be needing a doctor’s note, form or certificate completed. These are non insured services and not covered by MSP. Some other services not covered by MSP are, transfer of records, No Show fees for missed appointments and Driver’s Medicals (yellow stripe).
Doctors of BC has set a suggested price list for these services, and Wallace Clinic is keeping in line with these fees. These fees are updated yearly based on factors such as inflation and rising business costs. The costs also consider the value of your doctor’s time and experience given their extensive training and experience.
Forms and Certificates:
You must book a specific appointment for any form. Please take the form to our front desk and book a proper appointment for the form. If you have a form, DO NOT give this directly to your physician. Without the form being properly processed by our front desk, we cannot guarantee it will be done in a timely manner and may result in delays or other issues for you. In order to ensure the form can be processed, please complete and sign your entire portion of the form before handing it in to the clinic. Any emailed forms MUST be in pdf format and not a photo as these will not print, fax or scan legibly.
Prescription Refills:
Prescription renewals will not be done by phone or fax except under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the physician.
It is encouraged that you remain aware of your medications and their quantities and to bring them in with every visit to ensure that what you take and what we think you take are the same.
If you are going to be asking for a prescription renewal during an appointment, please do that at the beginning of your visit rather than the end.
If a request for a renewal is received without an appointment, it may not be reviewed by the prescribing physician until the physician is next available. There may be a significant delay between the time the request is submitted and the time it is reviewed. There is no guarantee that it will be accepted.
The reason that prescriptions cannot be renewed without a patient visit is that chronic conditions and medications are complex. We need to ensure that patients are taking them properly, appropriate follow up and tests have been done, there are no adverse effects and no interactions with other medications. In general, prescriptions are written with refills in appropriate quantities such that running out of medications usually indicates that it is time for reassessment.

ON-LINE BOOKING
Please read the following before booking online:
- At this time you may only book with your family doctor.
- Our online system only allows the booking of standard appointments. This means that appointments for physicals, cancer screening, driver’s medicals and other reasons which require more than a standard appointment time cannot be booked online.
- Please call us to book your appointment if it’s an urgent matter.
- Please note that you will need a Medeo account for online booking. If you don’t have one you can sign up at the same time you book your appointment online.
- Once you have booked, your appointment will be accepted or declined by the clinic. Please note, if your appointment is rejected, the reason will only show up in your Medeo account and not the notification. When in doubt, please phone the clinic to see why it was rejected. Rejecting an appointment is NOT refusing you care, it’s simply because the appointment that you are requesting is not appropriate.
Please call 250-591-9622 and speak with one of the receptionists using option #2.
